Ok, so I figure after my last post I would take my own pictures and share them with the world. Discard my fear of craft table photos and go for it.
Here are the pics my iphone army.... here they are

I still haven't figured out blogger so they are all over the map here. The pictures landed and I haven't a clue how to move them around. Damn I wish I knew how to make my blog look pretty!!

Portobello West. My first one and I loved it! Was next to a really nice lady selling chainmail jewelery: http://creationsbyuli.ca/ . We chatted all day and watched people come and go. Such a beautiful venue really, the Rocky Mountaineer train station. Lots of old exposed brick and very high ceilings. Tons of windows to let in natural light and fans way up on the roof and uber deluxe bathrooms too (hurray!)! I was very pleased with the response that I received from the Portobello West shoppers (oh yea baby!) and look forward to being there again in July!

I wish I had some snappy pictures from my last market to post on here but alas I do not!! It seems as though others do though as the lady next to me pointed out!! It never occurred to me that people walk by with there I phones and snap pictures of your work to scam ideas!!! When she suggested that this happens to her all the time I must admit I thought that she was totally blowing this way out of proportion and then I watched........

I couldn't help feel a bit paranoid as I watched folks cruise up and look like they were texting over top of my goods! Could this be true?? Will that lechery little lady with the iphone be making my style of cards at the next market? Do I have any right to be pissed (the vendor next to me flat out got angry at folks standing next to her table with an I phone). Do I call them on it?? I dunno but it gives me some food for thought. Rude I say!
FIGURE IT OUT ON YOUR OWN PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!

Incidentally I am at Portobello West for the first time (at that market) this coming Sunday June 27th from 12-6pm. I am really looking forward to it. Come on down and say Hi but LEAVE YOUR IPHONES AT HOME!! ha!!

Hello all! Here to tout my first craft fair of 2010. This Sunday Blim will host a rather large -45 vendors- market at there new location, the Vancouver Heritage Hall on 15th and Main. They will have all sorts of crafts, art, music and great food! I do love the Blim markets, they are laid back and always full of good folks. So.... Feb 25th from 11-4 come on down and take a gander.

I will have my usual repitiore of magnets, teacups, matchboxes and greetings to name a few. I am jonesing for a fair!

Off topic, had an order off of Etsy from Scotland today (matchboxes)! Yeehoo, I do so love that country. Made my husband promise that one day we will need to live there for at least a year. Want my hair to smell of peat smoke and my breath to smell of whisky for a while!

The Honey Bee Fest

Was a vendor at the honey bee fest (in Surrey)last weekend and i must say... it was lots of fun! They treated the bendors really well and it was quite busy. I will post a shot of my market stall and of a sample of the new resin filled necklaces that I sold a good amount of there. I am at such a crossroads as I am finding myself attracted to everything but paper these days and I have billed my etsy shop around papercrafts. Hmmm.... I keep hoping to come back to it. Christmas is coming and I really have to get on the card wagon!! Nonetheless.... here are the shots...

Moss Street Paint In!!!!!

I went for a weekend away to the ever lovely "Moss Street Paint In" in Victoria BC. This is an annual festival on the island that showcases amazing local artists up and down the great lengthy Moss street. We spent the day(it's a really long street) wandering to all the artists stations and stopping in at the garage sales that dot the street all the way down to the ocean. People busk, kids set up lemonade stands and there is also a farmers market en route. Top this off with some great local cider and the band "Cumbia" playing at the beer gardens outside the greater Victoria Art Gallery and a great day was had by all!

Just got back from a trip to Saskatoon! Was hot and wonderful. Went to a small town church carnival that took me back to the good ol days where things were free and easy! Food, Games, Ponyrides... so much fun for the kiddies. Now we are back on the west coast and I am crafting again, prepping for the next craft fair in July. Here are my latest tags. My mantra for today(it's been a rough one with the little lads..ugg)

Got a new haircut yesterday. I havent had bang's in years but I thought I would give it a go and surprize....I am happy with them! M

More importantly I got a new look for my etsy shop! I am excited! If you are interested you will have to go to my shop to check it out! Ok.... I am hooked on the resin. I sold a fair amount of the 3 packs of magnets at the craft fair and thought that I would list some on etsy and see how it went..... hmm.... I do so love them myself!

Finished my 40 card order and shipped it off...... it was fun to be momentarily stressed out crafting!! I can think of worse things to be stressed about!! yeee hooo!!

My new listing for the day. I have been having fun with resin!!! Had a friend bring me hundreds of bottle caps (works in a bar) and I have been dying to make these Frida Kahlo inchies come to life! Fun!! My new favorite thing to do for the moment. I am on a mission to create a bunch of thank you/inspiration cards for a friend of mine and really need to focus on this over the next few days!!! Ahh!! must use brain....ugggg ugg..

Cabbage Rolls from Heaven

I know I know... cabbage rolls you say?? It is not elgant nor food for the sophisticate but oh yea baby.... slather these with sour cream and taste a little heaven. Reminiscent of a good ol Ukrainian wedding and the "midnight dinners". What is this brilliant anomaly?? Is this a prairie thing? As soon as I married my uke husband and went to some weddings they have this brilliant tradition of serving up a big feast(in addition to the regular dinner) at midnight. Right after you have drank and partied they pull out the cabbage rolls and meat and cheese trays (lets not forget the dills) and whoa yea.... feast!! Bring it on!!

This is a great and easy recipe, makes a large glass casserole dish full. Enough for 4 piggish adults: Buy a savoy cabbage and stick it in the freezer for 24 hours. Pull it out and it into some boiling water the next day for 10/15 minutes or so until it's thawed and you can take the leaves off. Slice the hard center stems out and cut the big leaves in 2 down the center.

Prep the meat mix, 1 pound of organic beef(yes... i do organic meat only), 1 cup uncooked rice(yes!!!! don't cook it!!! so fast! Doesnt come out mushy that way.) 1/2 cup grated onion, 1/4 cup water, salt and pepper. mix it all up and put in the fridge to firm up for 20 minutes or so(not really neccisary but helps).

Slap some of the meat mix into the cabbage, roll it up and place into casserole dish. slather with 2 tins(yes... cooking from the 70's faux pas but tastes sooooooo lucious)of campbells tomatoe soup.

Cover woth foil and bake at 350 for 2 hours(not shy of that or you will have hard rice.

Your house will smell divine

Cinnamon Scones

Cinnamon scones from Cobb's. I have always thought of them as the Mac Donald's of bakeries but i have to say that i went in there today and and bought alot of bread products, including these scones and man oh man were they good. I would say that they were the best i have even had. Cakey but firm with just the right amount of crunchy sugar baked on top. Oh yea.
Made some new cards and tags this afternoon while the kids were (are napping). Fly in the bell jar and bee in the bell jar(they really are mason jars i think but i like the ring of bell jar) and some crown tags. Have 10 precious minutes left to myself to write in this new blog of mine. I will take pics and post them tomorrow. In the meantime why don't you look at some other goodies that I made.
